Abstract

Climate change is a pressing global issue that requires effective communication to raise awareness and promote mitigation strategies. This study is centred on broadcast media and the reportage of climate change issues in Nigeria. The researcher used library research method. The discourse showed that broadcast media play a very crucial role in the reportage of climate change issues. The researcher highlights the need for improved broadcast media coverage to enhance public awareness and engagement with climate change issues. It suggests that strategic collaboration between media outlets and local stakeholders could enhance the effectiveness of climate change communication. The findings have implications for broadcast media practitioners, policymakers and climate change communicators seeking to enhance public awareness and engagement on climate change issues in Nigeria.
